Book Addiction

This week I’ve decided to do the #bookaddiction #booktag! I hope you all enjoy, and feel free to take on any of the questions

What is the longest amount of time you can go without picking up a book?
I know that I have to pick up a book every day – reading is just a part of my natural daily routine! I love the best days when I manage to read before I go to sleep or first thing when I wake in the morning.

How many books do you carry on your person at any one time?
I usually plan my days very well, so I only take a book with me if I know that I am going to have time to read it.

Do you keep all the books you buy or are you happy to pass them on?
I keep ones that I have enjoyed but if it is a book that I DNF’d or just generally hated – I give it up to a charity shop.

How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?
I can legitimately spend hours in a bookshop – me and my friend often do that as a day event. We just walk around and find books that we want to read, and just end up chatting about them.

How much time do you typically spend a day reading?
I don’t actually know – it’s different every day, because it depends how much free time I have. I always try and read a few chapters everyday, but that’s more how I work it out – not by time but by the chapters that I’ve read.

Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ usually fall on your to-do list?
It’s usually either when I wake up in the morning, if I have nowhere to rush to – it’s lovely to sit in bed with a cup of tea and a book. If not, it’s just whenever I get time to get round to it.

How many books do you reckon you own?
I have absolutely loads, and I have counted it at some point but I’ve bought way more and donated some as well. I know that it’s in the triple figures but it depresses me too much to try and count them.

Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?
It depends who I’m talking to! If I’m talking to one of my book friends, then that could be everything we ever talk about. With other people I may mention that I have finished reading a book, and I love it when they ask me what I thought, or what it was about!

What is the biggest page read you’ve read?
I have no idea! And to be completely honest, I can’t be bothered to look on Goodreads to have a look. But it would probably be a classic that I’ve read at some point.

Is there a book that you had to get your hands on no matter what?
In the end I just had to buy Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom – I’ve read Crows and I can’t wait to get to the sequel.

A book you struggled to finish but didn’t DNF?
I don’t know actually!

Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader?
I don’t think so, but I do think that some of my bookstagram posts have encouraged someone to pick up a book!
