Hopeful

This book tag is all about books that have made me feel hopeful, or have left with me hopes to escape.

  1. A book world you would like to escape to:

To fully escape I think it would have to be somewhere magical, like Caraval – the story is so magical and it would be the perfect place to lose yourself.

2. A romance that left you all mushy inside:

One of my all-time favourites is The Host, because it explores different forms of relationships and shows that true love is more complex than we think. It was so cute and will always make me gush when I read it.

3. A friendship we should all aspire to have:

It’s got to be Six of Crows for this! Their friendships and dynamics are so interesting and they genuinely do all have each others backs. I’d love to have a friendship like Inej and Nina.

4. A character in a leadership role that inspires you:

I loved Ciara in Beyond a Darkened Shore – her strength and resilience was so inspiring, and she wasn’t just written as a boring strong female either; she had depth and complexity.

5. Recommend three books that fill you with hope.

I think this is quite a personal one, I have books that fill me with hope but may not affect other people. One is Billy and Me, by Giovanna Fletcher – this fills me with hope because it has always been the book that I turn to when I need picking up.
Following the same thought pattern – Pride and Prejudice fills me with hope because I love the storyline that there is someone out there for everyone.
I would also recommend Finding Aubrey, because the story is about finding yourself and picking hope to get better or at least try to be better.

Thank you for reading, feel free to tackle the tag! -personally, Emma
