Time for another book tag! Today is all about 20 Questions book themed, and once again I leave it open for everyone to take part in.
- How many books is too many books in a series?
That’s a tricky question really, I think it depends on how much story is left to tell. Sometimes extra worldbuilding can be really exciting to read, especially if there’s old and new characters to focus on. But I hate it when I see unnecessary stories being told and dragging it out.
2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?
I actually really like them! It means that I am constantly thinking about the book and the story – plus, trying to work out what happened.
3. Hardback or paperback?
I like a mixture of the two! If it’s a special edition, I love hardbacks and I enjoy reading and displaying them. But sometimes it’s easier to curl up with a nice paperback.
4. Favourite book?
Northanger Abbey, by Jane Austen – Six of Crows, by Leigh Bardugo – Becoming, by Michelle Obama
5. Least favourite?
6. Love triangles, yes or no?
Yes, I think when done right they can be really fun to read.
7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?
I have no idea – I always try and finish it to put on my Goodreads list.
8. A book you’re currently reading?
I’m just about to start reading Crooked Kingdom, by Leigh Bardugo.
9. Last book you recommended to someone?
Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
10. Oldest book you’ve read?
I’m not sure actually, I read a hell of a lot of classics and older books.
11. Newest book you’ve read?
Again, I don’t know really – I don’t tend to look at the publication date. I do try to read some recent publications though like Finale by Stephanie Garber.
12. Favourite author?
Jane Austen, Leigh Bardugo, Julie Dao
13. Buying or borrowing books?
14. A book you dislike but everyone else seemed to love?
I’m not entirely sure – I don’t have a very good memory on stuff like this. I reckon it was something like The Duff or The Sun is also a Star.
15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?
Both, depends if I have a bookmark near me or if it’s a classic – sometimes I feel that it adds to the look of the book.
16. A book you can always re-read?
Billy and Me, by Giovanna Fletcher.
17. Can you read while hearing music?
I can’t, I have to make sure that I’m fully focused – it takes a lot to even read in a coffee shop.
18. One POV or multiple?
Either, it doesn’t bother me.
19. One sitting or over multiple days?
Multiple days, I don’t have enough time to read in one sitting!
20. Who do you tag?
Thanks for reading, -personally, Emma
